Since the foundation of INVAP by Dr. Conrado Varotto, he instilled in the company a vocation for solidarity focused on the creation of genuine sources of employment. In 2004, INVAP joined the United Nations Global Compact with the aim of promoting, supporting and encouraging the implementation of its ten principles, which embodied cultural patterns already established in the company since its foundation —such as the regard for Human Rights, the value of education, integrity in working practices, the defense of the natural environment and the creation of a working environment of mutual respect in which diversity is appreciated. The continuing commitment of INVAP to these values can be evaluated by the Communications on Progress (COP) that have been carried out annually since 2004.
The Sustainability Report has been published on an annual basis since 2012. This tool allows us to effectively measure, account for and communicate accurate information on our activities and decisions concerning sustainability. To this end, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) performance indicators are used, which quantify and monitor the main aspects of management with internationally accepted parameters.
The report reflects the multiple ways in which INVAP generates economic, environmental and social values for its public contributing to a sustainable development.
Technology for sustainability
INVAP develops state-of-the-art technology in different industrial, scientific and applied research fields, and creates high value-added “technological packages,” thus enhancing the quality of people's life and contributing to a national and international sustainable development.
Contributions to health and medicine: Medical technology for the treatment of several diseases and the manufacturing of state-of the-art hip prosthesis.
Technology for development: In the fields of energy, telecommunications, access to information, industrial improvement, agriculture, navigation, and scientific investigation.
Contributions to people's safety: Radars for the surveillance and defense of the Argentine territory and for airspace control and emergency management.
Technology for environmental research: Quality information on climate change effects, global research on the atmosphere, the oceans and the environmental impact.
Technological contributions to the implementation of National Strategic Programs
2008-2015 National Space Program: Aimed at taking advantage of the space science and technology for peaceful uses. According to this Program, the national government, through the Argentine National Space Activities Commission (CONAE, in Spanish) exploits a strategic resource generating genuine income by providing high value-added telephone, data, Internet and TV services. The Program provides information for agricultural, fishing and forest activities, as well as on climate, hydrology, oceanography, emergency and health management, cartography, geology, environment and natural resources surveillance, and territorial planning.

National Program of Digital Open Television: This is a social program of the Argentine Government, specifically related to the Digital Terrestrial Television and the Direct to Home TV. Its aim is to increase the quality of TV contents, image and sound, its accessibility, as well as citizen participation, social inclusion, job creation, strengthening of the national TV industry and coverage of the whole country.
National System of Aerospace Surveillance and Control (SINVICA, in Spanish): A system designed for the Argentine Air Force and the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC, in Spanish) that improves the air traffic safety and efficiency as well as the airspace control, so as to protect the national sovereignty and security by controlling the illicit flight activities related to smuggling and use of the airspace for criminal ends. Its implementation has allowed to achieve the objectives established by the International Civil Aviation Organization (OACI, in Spanish) Program of Communications, Navigation, Surveillance and Administration of the Air Traffic.
National System of Meteorological Radars (SINARAME, in Spanish): A strategic tool developed for the National Undersecretary Office of Water Resources to monitor in real time weather and its potential changes, and severe environmental eventualities, in the whole Argentine territory. This will allow the country to become a technological leader in the Latin American region, since the total amount of radars will be developed, manufactured, and operated by Argentine professionals using Argentine technology. The implementation of the SINARAME will permit the National Meteorological Service to offer more accurate information, provide a better service of early warning, and prevent the effects of natural disasters that may harm the people as well as the infrastructure, transport and production.
