Early in October, INVAP has signed a contract to furnish \u2013on a \u201cturn-key\u201d basis- 18 radiotherapy centres to the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Venezuela, to be constructed in different sites all over that country.<\/p>\n

These centres incorporate cobalt therapy units, linear accelerators and simulators, as well as shielding bunkers and ancillary services. Maintenance of these centres over 5 years is also included in the scope of the 53 mUSD contract, to be fulfilled in 18 months, as well as the furnishment of medical Co-60 sources made by the Argentine Atomic Energy Commission.<\/p>\n

This contract is a part of the General Cooperation Agreement signed some time ago between the governments of Argentina and Venezuela.
