Between September 13 and 17 Critical Design Review (CDR) of the first argentine communications satellite ARSAT-1 took place at INVAP\u00b4s premises in San Carlos de Bariloche. The event was attended by the body of consultants and reviewers, staff of ARSAT Argentina as well as special guests. During the review, INVAP personnel described different aspects of the detailed engineering of the satellite to the client, who had the opportunity to review the proposals for implementation of functional chains, systems and subsystems.
As a result of this review the project received approval without major objections, so it can continue to the next stage which is the manufacture, assembly, integration and testing of the satellite.<\/p>\n
INVAP SE had been commissioned by the AR-SAT company to design and manufacture ARSAT-1, the first Argentine Geostationary telecommunications satellite. This device will cover orbit positions and frequency bands assigned to our country by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), to serve telephone and data, Internet and TV to users around the country and America.<\/p>\n
AR-SAT SA is a state company started in 2006 through Law 26,092 to develop and manufacture telecommunications satellites to take over and profit satellite orbital positions and associated frequency bands assigned to Argentina, in order to provide services throughout the Americas.<\/p>\n
The creation of AR-SAT is a clear evidence of the importance and strategic value that the National Government assigned to the orbit-spectrum resource and technological development in an area also strategic for the country as is the space industry.<\/p>\n
AR-SAT has the exclusive rights to exploit the two orbital positions assigned to it in Argentina, 72 \u00b0 and 81 \u00b0 West Longitude. Pending the entry into service of domestically produced satellite, the company operates temporarily third country satellites.<\/p>\n
