On February 3, the Ward for Victims of Sexual Abuse belonging to Bariloche Regional Hospital \u201cDr. Ram\u00f3n Carrillo\u201d was inaugurated with an official ceremony presided over by the Hospital Director, Dr. Mercedes Iber\u00f3 and Dr. Gabriela Varone. It was attended by the President of Bariloche Rotary Club, Mr. Omar Vasallo; the President of the Board of Directors of INVAP S.E. (Argentine state-owned applied research company), Horacio Osuna; its Personnel Director, Engineer Gabriel Absi; as well as Hospital’s staff and Rotary members, and different local media.<\/p>\n
The implementation of the interdisciplinary and inter institutional hospital ward that will be used to evaluate, follow-up and deal with cases of sexual abuse and rape was achieved thanks to the cooperation of several organizations of San Carlos de Bariloche, such as Bariloche Rotary Club, the medical care firm Medif\u00e9 Foundation, the stationary store Centro del Copiado and INVAP, together with the sexual abuse working group of Bariloche Regional Hospital and the funds raised through the choral meeting \u201cCanto por vos\u201d carried out last September.<\/p>\n
The acquisition of the equipment required (a stretcher, a video colposcope with an image capture system and a mechanical arm, and the refurbishment of the hospital ward) was possible thanks to the different contributions mentioned.<\/p>\n
