INVAP took another key step forward in the development of the future Center for Nuclear Science and Technology (CNST) in Uganda by beginning geotechnical studies at the construction site.

The first drilling operations have already begun, marking a turning point in the dynamics of this ambitious project, which represents a strategic transfer of know-how and technology to the African country.

After more than a year of intense work, which included coordination with local subcontractors, starting these tasks on the ground is a concrete sign of the project’s progress.

Geotechnical studies are the most demanding stage in the field within the site analysis package, and this step reaffirms INVAP’s commitment to the technical and operational execution of the CNST.

This milestone is added to the first version of the Strategic Plan and progress made in the preliminary design of the facility, consolidating the road map towards a center that will be essential to the peaceful development of nuclear technology in Uganda.

Through this initiative, INVAP once again proves its adaptive capacity to different contexts, operating in a new country with logistical, cultural, and contractual challenges. With this progress, the company ratifies its commitment to international cooperation and the development of sovereign technological capabilities in the nuclear field.
