07-01-05 – INVAP builds early warning system for forest fires. : Employing technologies developed for space observation systems, INVAP is constructing an on-line telemetric system for early detection of forest fires, which frequently haunt the natural forests of the Patagonian Andes during hot and dry summer months…

Employing technologies developed for space observation systems, INVAP is constructing an on-line telemetric system for early detection of forest fires, which frequently haunt the natural forests of the Patagonian Andes during hot and dry summer months. The sysm uses observation devices in both the visible and infrared ranges. To test the system, it will be installed near INVAP´s home town of Bariloche, but the net-shaped system can be structured with multiple fixed as well as airborne teleguided observation cameras.
