INVAP completed the delivery of the first two RPA-200M radars to the Argentine Army as part of a project aimed at strengthening air defense through domestically developed technology.

The ceremony, held at the headquarters of the company based in the Province of Río Negro, was attended by the Chief of the Argentine Army, Major General Santiago Zarich; as well as INVAP’s authorities, including the Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Vicente Campenni, Vice Chairman Dr. Guido Lavalle, members of the General Management, and the Defense, Security and Environment Area Manager, Engineer Javier Conti.

The activity is part of an ongoing collaboration between both institutions, aimed at developing technological systems tailored to specific operational needs.

During the visit, the authorities toured the company’s facilities, where they learned about the various projects carried out by the company over the past five decades across its business areas, as well as its complex systems integration and testing processes.

The RPA-200M is a long-range 3D tactical radar designed to be deployed swiftly with minimum staff. Its architecture, based on AESA technology and advanced digital processing, enables operation in demanding environments, with high availability and adaptability to different scenarios.

The system integrates primary and secondary sensors—including Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) capabilities and ADS-B signal reception—allowing it to simultaneously detect, identify, and track multiple aircraft, determining their range, altitude, and azimuth. It also features Doppler processing capabilities that improve target discrimination and operation in demanding environments.

Its modular and transportable design enables rapid field deployment, allowing integration with remote command and control systems to provide real-time information, which is key to operational decision-making.

This technology is the result of the joint work between INVAP and the Argentine Army that combines technological and industrial capabilities with operational expertise. This collaborative approach enables the development of tailored solutions and supports their evolution from the initial design stages through field implementation and long-term sustainment.

The incorporation of these systems represents a step forward in the strengthening of the national defense capabilities and reinforces the development of strategic technology in the country. It also positions Argentina as a supplier of high-complexity systems in the international market.

On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, INVAP reaffirms its commitment to developing technological capabilities in service of the country, bringing together expertise, industry, and close collaboration with its clients to meet long-term strategic challenges.
