The Argentine Senate by unanimous vote established June 10th as the National Day of Space Science and Technology Development, in commemoration of the launch- in 2011 – of the SAC-D/Aquarius satellite, designed and built by INVAP for the National Commission of Space Activities and NASA.
The initiative had been modified by the Chamber of Deputies, so that the first commemoration ceremony would be celebrated in Rio Negro, and then celebrated in different provinces every year.
Among the fundamentals of the original project, Senator Pablo Verani affirmed that “science and technology have invaded all economic, social and cultural tissues in a dimension that forces us to reconsider both their relations with society and their roles.
