On March 26, INVAP received the visit of the new International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)Director General, Dr. Yuyika Amano. He came accompanied by Dr. Norma Boero, President of the National Atomic Energy Commission and arrived in Bariloche to visit INVAP installations and also the Bariloche Atomic Research Center (CNEA), the Balseiro Institute and Pilcaniyeu Technological Center.
Dr. Amano expressed his satisfaction for the visit, and as far as Argentine nuclear policies are concerned, he pointed out that “the country is well developed in atomic energy research and technology and is facing very promising new projects”. He also stressed the government’s “brave decisions” that made it possible to recover atomic development “even before its recent revival around the word”. .
