On September 11, INVAP was awarded by the Konex Foundation its Merit Diploma, with which it recognizes the one hundred individuals most prominent for their accomplishments in the field of Institutions-Community-Business during the last decade.

The event took place at the auditorium of the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires. Lic. Héctor Otheguy, President of the Board of Directors of INVAP, and  Dr. Vicente Campenni, its General Manager, received the distinction on behalf of the company.

Within the “Scientific and Technological Research Organizations” category, the prize was also awarded to the National Genetic Data Bank, the Argentine biotechnology firm Bioceres, the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET, in Spanish) and the Bishop Colombres Experimental Agroindustrial Station (EEAOC, in Spanish).

The selection of the one hundred personalities was in charge of a jury whose president is Dr. Adalberto Rodríguez Giavarini, integrated by twenty members already awarded in previous years.  The jury has the task of choosing by November twenty final winners, one in each category, who will receive the Platinum Konex Prize. It is important to point out that INVAP already won this prize in the 1998-2007 period.

At the ceremony, Luis Ovsejevich, President of the Konex Foundation, demanded “to select and add up valuable leaders from all sectors of society in order to achieve the progress of the country.” Honoring outstanding persons in the institutional, community and business areas with merit diplomas “contributes to this objective of  progress,” he concluded.
