From August 6 to 10, INVAP participated in the Aeronautic Week to commemorate the Argentine Air Force (FAA, in Spanish) Day, which took place at Morón Military Air Base. Admission was completely free of charge. Thousands of visitors enjoyed the civic and military airshow carried out by the FAA.

On August 8, an official ceremony was held in the context of these activities. It was presided over by the Minister of Defense, Engineer Agustín Rossi, and the Brigadier-General Mario Callejo. On this occasion, they awarded the “Argentine Air Force’s Friend Prize” to the INVAP (applied research company) authorities that were present, Lic. Hugo Albani (Vice President of the company) and Lic. Ricardo Sagarzazu (Vice President of Strategic Developments).

The Aeronautic Week involved a series of open meetings whose main aim was to make citizens aware of the FAA daily work. There was an air festival called “Argentina Flies 2014”, the first Argentine civic and military airshow open to the general public. Different institutions belonging to the public administration and the Argentine aeronautic industry gave information about their activities with a clear educational purpose and intended to promote the national airspace industry. Hundreds of elementary and technical schools students from all over the country attended the event.

Besides, there were static air exhibitions, fighter aircraft demonstrations, musical shows, and cultural and gastronomic activities. Also took part in the expo professionals from different flying-related areas, such as aerobatics, gliders, helicopters, skydiving, hot-air balloon riding, classic airplanes, experimental and agricultural aviation, and aircraft firefighting, among others.
