From April 21 to 24, INVAP S.E. (an Argentine state-owned applied research company) participates in the Río Negro 2016 Total Expo carried out on the premises of the Rural Society of Viedma, Province of Río Negro. The event promotes the commerce, industry, production, and the cultural and social services of the region with the aim of making the general public aware of its economic profile and encouraging the relations and business exchange.

On Thursday, at midday, the Governor of the Province of Río Negro, Mr. Alberto Weretilneck together with the Vice-governor, Prof. Pedro Pesatti; the Mayor of Viedma, Engineer José Luis Foulkes; and other provincial and municipal authorities presided over the formal opening ceremony of the Total Expo. After that, different events and activities began to take place.

In this context, Mr. Weretilneck highlighted the importance of the collaborative work between the provincial government and the productive sectors: “When the President of the Chamber of Commerce and his work team made this proposal, there was something that immediately caught our attention. It was the philosophical sense to show all the productive activity and wealth generated in Río Negro in an exposition,” said the Governor.

The Expo was supported by the provincial government and financed by the Provincial Liaison Unit and the Investment Federal Council. The idea came from the local Chamber of Commerce, the American Foundation for the Promotion of Sustainable Development and Tourism (FUNDAMERICA), and the Civil Association “Not everything is wakefulness.

INVAP, ALTEC and the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Development for Production took part in the Expo, together with other 200 exhibitors and organizations, in a room where there were more than 25 stands promoting the technological offer and showing the great potential of the small and medium productive entrepreneurs of the Lower Valley region and the rest of the Province of Río Negro.
