Today, INVAP’s workers gathered at different headquarters and offices of the company to share the simultaneous transmission of the launching of the Argentine geostationary satellite ARSAT-2, which took place at 5.30 p.m., in Kourou, French Guiana, and was broadcast live by Arianespace TV and a national television channel (TV Pública).

By this means of communication and thanks to the constant contact with INVAP’s professionals staying in Kourou and at Benavidez Ground Station in Argentina —which belongs to the company ARSAT—, the successful launching of the ARSAT-1 was confirmed. The Arsat-2, on board the Ariane 5 rocket of the company Arianespace, passed through each of the stages successfully.

The main event attended by INVAP’s staff was held at its headquarters in San Carlos de Bariloche, where the ARSAT-1 and the ARSAT-2 were designed, built, assembled and tested. The first one was launched on October 16, 2014.

During the meeting, intense emotion was experienced every time the mission successfully passed through each of the stages to put the satellite into orbit. Now, the only thing left is to wait the satellite to be moved to its final position in the geostationary orbit, which will be reached in a few days. This process will be followed by telemetry from Benavidez Ground Station.
