On June 14, the National Secretary of Health, Prof. Dr. Adolfo Rubinstein, together with representatives of health ministries of the MERCOSUR countries and associated states, meeting in the context of the MERCOSUR Ministers Summit that took place in San Carlos de Bariloche, visited INVAP’s headquarters.

They were welcomed by the President of INVAP’s Board of Directors, Lic. Héctor Otheguy; the General Manager, Dr. Vicente Campenni; and the Deputy General Manager, Engineer Marcelo Basigalup, as well as by other authorities of the company. The most important achievements of the firm during more than 40 years and its development fields such as nuclear, space, defense and security, medical systems, and technological services were then reviewed. 

During the tour, special emphasis was placed on INVAP’s record in the nuclear development area since the origin of the company in this activity to the recent signing of a contract with the Netherlands regarding a nuclear research and radioisotope production reactor for medical uses. In addition, a new contract for the provision of three turnkey nuclear medicine and radiotherapy centers to Bolivia, which are expected to be fully operational in 2020, was particularly mentioned. 

In connection with the satellite development area, the delegation visited the Hi-Tech Test Center (CEATSA, in Spanish), where the satellite SAOCOM 1B is currently located for its assemblage and subsequent environmental tests. 

At the end of the visit, Dr. Vicente Campenni, General Manager of INVAP, delivered a farewell speech and there was an exchange of gifts and official photographs.
