On September 4, INVAP signed a contract with Turkish Aerospace company to develop a new generation of telecommunication satellites “Small-Geo”, which will be carried out by GSATCOM Space Technologies, a strategic partnership between both companies created in May this year.
The signing ceremony took place at INVAP’s headquarters in San Carlos de Bariloche, and was attended, on behalf of Turkish Aerospace by Dr. Selman Nas, Vice President of the Space Division, and Dr. Taha Tetik, Program Manager; and on behalf of INVAP, by Dr. Vicente Campenni, General Manager, and Engineer Gabriel Absi, Space Business Manager.
The new partnership thus initiates the first program to develop, produce and commercialize small geostationary satellites designed to provide telecommunication services and get into the international geo satellite market in a competitive way.
This new family of satellites will offer a variety of telecommunication solutions implemented on a fully electric platform based on the concept of small satellites of high performance.
