This afternoon, the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Argentina, Major General Carlos Eduardo Martínez Mendoza, visited the headquarters of INVAP S.E. (an Argentine state-owned Applied Research Company) after inaugurating the library “Comandante Hugo Chávez Frías” which belongs to the Argentine Workers’ Central Union (CTA, in Spanish) and the Union of Municipal Workers and Employees, from the town of Bariloche (SOYEM, in Spanish).

During his visit, the ambassador was accompanied by the Secretary of Culture, Education and Sports at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Jesús Olivo Abreu, as well as the Manager of Government and Aerospace Projects of INVAP, engineer Tulio Calderón.

The aim of the tour was to brief the visitors on the business guidelines followed by the company nowadays, and especially on the space projects developed in the last years, such as the Scientific Applications Satellite (SAC, in Spanish) and the flight model of ARSAT-1 —the first Argentine geostationary satellite for telecommunications built by INVAP for ARSAT, the Argentine Company for Satellite Solutions, dependent on the national Department of Federal Planning, Public Investment and Services.
