On November 30, the National Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, and the Governor of the Province of Río Negro, Arabela Carreras, headed the tour of INVAP’s facilities in Bariloche, together with Julie Shuttlewort, CEO of the Australian company Fortescue Future Industries.
This visit was organized in the context of the project whose aim is to leverage the wind potential of Punta Colorada area —in the east of the Province of Río Negro— for the intensive production of green hydrogen. Fortescue is making progress on this development with the study stages of prefeasibility and environmental impact.
The delegation, which also included the representative of Fortescue in Argentina, Agustín Pichot, was welcomed and accompanied during the visit by Vicente Campenni, General Manager of INVAP; Marcelo Basigalup and Carlos Montenegro, General Deputy Managers; Darío Giussi, Defense, Security and Environment Manager; Gabriel Absi, Space Area Manager; and Verónica Garea, President of INVAP Foundation.
During the tour, they visited the buildings of Engineering, Satellite Integration, and the Hi-Tech Test Center (CEATSA, in Spanish) —a company created in 2010 as the result of an agreement between the Argentine Company for Satellite Solutions (ARSAT S.A.) and INVAP.
This visit is an important step with a view to completing the project, which involves the creation of links between the Australian company, pioneer in hydrogen technology, and the Scientific and Technological Center (Polo Científico Tecnológico, in Spanish) of the Province of Río Negro.
